The MNPI Administrative Center Structure

The MNPI Administrative Center provides administrative services to four basic science departments at the University of Minnesota Medical School: Microbiology & Immunology; Neuroscience; Pharmacology; and Integrative Biology & Physiology. Finance, human resources, and grant preaward processes for each of the four departments are centralized, with staff working in teams to provide these services.

What We Can Do For You

MNPI Administrative Center staff support faculty in their roles as scientists, teachers, and University leaders. We support students' efforts to learn and grow through coursework, lab experiences, and advising. We help each other in labs and offices throughout the MNPI Center to create a productive, supportive, and collegial work environment.

  • Responsible for overall organizing and directing of MNPI Center administrative affairs
  • Supervises Finance, Grants and HR Managers
  • Oversees financial position and annual budget process
  • Coordinates multi-department efforts

Debi Marsh
Finance Manager

  • Oversees finance processes and accounting staff
  • Provides financial guidance and assistance to faculty, managers and Dept. Heads
  • Monitors monthly reconciling and reporting
  • Leads Certified Approver and Effort Coordination for MNPI Center

Kirsti Hendriksen

  • Oversees pre-award grant processes and supervises grant coordinators
  • Coordinates and ensures sufficient staffing for grant proposal deadlines
  • Develops training materials and presentations for faculty and staff
  • Acts as research process liaison for PIs and staff on compliance issues

Colleen O'Neill

  • Coordinates HR compliance processes and efforts
  • Coordinates annual performance review process
  • Advises faculty, managers, and Dept. Heads regarding HR policy and personnel issues
